Make favicon.ico and a full website icon set from a logo
Quick answer
Open Toolfox → Favicon Generator, drop your logo (ideally square, at least 512×512) and click Create Favicons. You get a folder with favicon.ico, the Apple touch icon, Android icons, site.webmanifest and a README.txt with the HTML tags to paste. It runs entirely on your computer (Mac, Windows or Linux). How to do it
- Open Favicon Generator and drop your logo.
- Choose what happens if it isn't square: pad with transparency, pad with a color, or crop the center.
- Set the Apple icon background, the site name and the theme color for the manifest.
- Click Create Favicons, then paste the tags from README.txt into your site's HTML.

Good to know
- Start from a square image of at least 512×512 for the sharpest results. Smaller images are enlarged and will look soft.
