Good to know

  • PNG, BMP, TIFF and lossless WebP are cropped without any quality loss. JPEG and lossy WebP are re-encoded at high quality (95), which loses a tiny amount of detail.
  • Coordinates refer to the photo as you see it: EXIF rotation is applied first. EXIF metadata (camera, GPS) is not copied; the color profile is kept where the format allows.
  • Trim uses the color shared by most corners as the border color, and skips files that have no plain border.

Crop Image FAQ

Does cropping a JPEG lose quality?

Very slightly. JPEG and lossy WebP are re-encoded at high quality (95). PNG, BMP, TIFF and lossless WebP are cropped losslessly.

How does “Trim plain borders” work?

It takes the color shared by most corners as the border color and trims it away, within the color tolerance you set. Files with no plain border are skipped.

Is the photo's GPS location kept?

No. EXIF metadata (camera, GPS) isn't copied. EXIF rotation is applied first, so coordinates match the photo as you see it.
