Quick answer
Open Toolfox → Find & Replace, paste your text, type what to find and what to replace it with, and choose plain text or regular expression. The result updates as you type; in regex mode, $1 or ${name} inserts a captured group. It runs entirely on your computer (Mac, Windows or Linux). Files are never uploaded.
How to do it
- Open Find & Replace and paste text or open a file.
- Type Find and Replace with, and choose Plain text or Regular expression.
- Optionally ignore case, match whole words only, or set a maximum number of replacements.
- Copy the result or Save… it as replaced.txt.

Good to know
- Regular expressions use Rust regex syntax. It is always fast, even on large text, but has no look-ahead, look-behind or backreferences.
- In plain text mode, the replacement is inserted exactly as typed; $ has no special meaning.
- Windows line endings count as a single line break.

Does it support look-ahead or backreferences?
No. It uses Rust regex syntax, which is always fast, even on large text, but has no look-ahead, look-behind or backreferences.
How do I insert a line break in the replacement?
Turn on “Interpret \n and \t in the replacement”, then type \n for a line break or \t for a tab.
Why isn't $1 replaced in plain text mode?
In plain text mode the replacement is inserted exactly as typed. $ only has a special meaning in regular expression mode.
