Developer & Text · QR Code Reader
Read a QR code from a photo or screenshot on your computer
Quick answer
Open Toolfox → QR Code Reader, drop photos or screenshots and click Read QR Codes. Links, text, Wi-Fi details and contact cards are decoded and shown in the app, several codes per image, and links are never opened. It runs entirely on your computer (Mac, Windows or Linux). Files are never uploaded.
How to do it
- Open QR Code Reader and drop up to 100 images.
- Click Read QR Codes.
- Review the decoded contents. Wi-Fi passwords are hidden unless you turn on “Show Wi-Fi passwords”.
- Copy what you need. Nothing is written to disk.
Options you can set
- Show Wi-Fi passwords
Good to know
- Reads standard QR codes, several per image. Other barcodes (EAN, Data Matrix, Aztec) and tiny or heavily distorted codes may not be found.
- Toolfox never opens decoded links. Check where a link goes before you visit it.
